Drink Chia! heads to the Daytona Beach Half Marathon
Shaking off the cobwebs at the office at 5:30 in the morning is something we are all getting used to. It was another event weekend for Drink Chia! and we were excited to head to the Daytona International SpeedWay for the Daytona Beach Half Marathon. What a cool venue to have for a running event!
I’ve been to a few Daytona 500 events,and it was nice to keep to my head in one position versus the normal bobble head swivel that you have to do watching the races. It was quite a site to see so many people on the horizon on the race track surface. They were charging down the track where normally Nascar vehicles fly around at nearly a couple hundred miles per hour. The finish line was truly a Kodak moment. The participants crossed the finish line right where the race cars finish for the checkered flag.
The post race party was in full swing as the racers headed over to the venues with full carb recovery going on (i.e. pizza, beer, a donut, etc…), and of course some Drink Chia! It was a pleasure meeting Nathan from 110% Play Harder, the folks representing Florida Hospital, and the people with Spike’s.
We love being out at the races, events, and just being outside (the weather was amazing). Bill, our ultrarunner ambassador- check out his profile on our site- was on hand to hang out as well. Hearing the stories and mingling with the participants is what we love to do! It is so inspiring to see people at all different levels getting outside and being active.
